RE/MAX outweighs the rest of the Bloomington brands

Second place goes to Coldwell Banker, whose 72 Bloomington agents form 24% of that McLean County roster; across Illinois its slice is 18%.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices also runs above its Illinois share, with 39 agents and 8 rows on bhhscir.com.

CENTURY 21 Quest accounts for the whole Century 21 count in Bloomington, 16 agents.

HomeSmart barely registers in Bloomington-Normal terms, 5 agents and 2% of the city's brand-affiliated roster, though it reaches 8% in our Illinois file.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group on the Bloomington map

Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group is the only company group in Bloomington with 50 or more agents on file, and its 72 agents are every Coldwell Banker agent we hold in the city.

RE/MAX is missing from this map even though it is the larger brand: none of our Bloomington company names carry the RE/MAX name, so its agents fall outside the company groups.

A McLean County board that lists through Chicago's MLS

The Bloomington-Normal Association of REALTORS and the Livingston County Board of REALTORS combined to form the Mid-Illinois REALTORS Association, which has its base in Bloomington. Illinois REALTORS reported that the merged group has more than 500 members across McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Woodford counties.

Listings run through Midwest Real Estate Data, the Chicago-area MLS. The Bloomington-Normal association picked MRED in September 2018, McLean became the 21st county in MRED's service area, and the switch went live in January 2019 (MRED release).

The association counts its members over four counties; our file holds the 301 agents with a Bloomington office address whose brokerage publishes their email.

Bloomington metro prices in the Illinois REALTORS numbers

Illinois REALTORS put the annual median sales price for the Bloomington metro at $245,000 in 2025, up 2.1 percent from $240,000 in 2024 (2025 annual report).

Its first-quarter 2026 forecast found closed sales of all property types in the Bloomington-Normal MSA up 5.6 percent between March 2025 and March 2026, with the median sales price up 13.5 percent over the same stretch. Both are metro figures covering more than the city.

Insurance headquarters and an EV plant in Normal

The city's major employer list, last updated in September 2024, puts State Farm Insurance Companies first with 13,000+ workers, then Rivian at 7,500, Illinois State University at 3,348 and COUNTRY Financial at 3,000 (City of Bloomington).

Rivian began building its R2 for customers at the Normal plant in April 2026, days after a tornado hit the site, with one shift at launch and a second planned for later in 2026.

Questions about the Bloomington file

Answered with this build's Bloomington numbers and the sources above.

Are agents with a Normal office in the Bloomington list?
No. This list keeps to Bloomington office addresses; any agent we hold with a Normal, LeRoy or Heyworth office sits in the Illinois state file and our US file instead.
Which MLS do Bloomington agents enter their listings into?
Midwest Real Estate Data, the Chicago-area MLS, which took over the Bloomington-Normal listing service when it went live in early 2019.
Do Bloomington agents write more from remax.net or from Gmail?
remax.net, by a wide margin: 122 Bloomington rows use it against 57 on gmail.com, and 73 rows in all use a free service.
Why does RE/MAX lead the Bloomington brands but not the company names?
By company name, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group is the largest with 72 rows. RE/MAX is the bigger brand at 123 agents, but none of our Bloomington company names carry the RE/MAX name.
What are the 7 rows in the Bloomington list that are not agents?
They are business addresses read on real estate firms' own websites, often a front desk or team inbox. The Data Source column tells each one apart from the 301 Bloomington agents.
