RASK, the Corvette plant and WKU

The local board began in 1937 as the Bowling Green Board of REALTORS and took the name REALTOR Association of Southern Kentucky (RASK) in 1997, when it grew to serve Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Muhlenberg, Simpson and Warren counties (RASK). Its subsidiary, Real Estate Information Services, Inc., runs the MLS, which the association says processes more than 2,500 listings a year.

Bowling Green Assembly has been the only plant building the Corvette since 1981, and a 2019 state announcement of a second shift put its workforce above 1,300.

Western Kentucky University reported 15,920 students in fall 2025, down 2.3% from 16,293 a year earlier.

Zoning runs through one county commission

The City-County Planning Commission of Warren County handles zoning map amendments, subdivisions and the comprehensive plan for the county and for Bowling Green, Oakland, Plum Springs, Smiths Grove and Woodburn (warrenpc.org). It meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays in the Warren County Courthouse.
