Minnesota inboxes: remax.net first, Gmail fifth

As a mail domain, remax.net tops the Minnesota rows, on 1,527 addresses, ahead of kw.com (1,242), cbburnet.com (776) and cbrealty.com (747). Gmail ranks only fifth, with 600. Counting Gmail with every other free provider, 11% of these rows are on free mail and 89% on a business domain.

Most Coldwell Banker agents in this state write from one of two domains: cbburnet.com on 775 of the brand's 1,653 Minnesota rows, cbrealty.com on 738.

Of the Minnesota rows, 94% include a phone. In October 2026 our walks first logged 553 of the Minnesota rows. The month dates their entry into our file only, not a licensing date or any change of firm.

Coldwell Banker and RE/MAX run nearly level in Minnesota

Three names cover 75% of the Minnesota agents on file who carry a brand: Coldwell Banker with 1,653, RE/MAX with 1,613 and Keller Williams with 1,396. Keller Williams sits third in Minnesota, though no brand is bigger in our US file.

RE/MAX weighs heavily in Minnesota: 26% of the branded rows here against 10% across our US file, more than two and a half times its share there. Coldwell Banker, at 27% to 15%, also runs far above its US-file weight.

Century 21 has a smaller share here, 5%, than its 8% in our US file, and one company name, CENTURY 21 Atwood, appears on 149 Minnesota rows, more than half the brand's 292 agents here; 60 of those rows give St Louis Park as the office town.

At the far end, some large names in our US file hardly register in Minnesota. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has 13 agents here out of 36,228 in that file, HomeSmart 38 out of 24,548 and LPT Realty a single agent out of 12,578.

Minneapolis first, Wayzata second: Minnesota agents by office

Minnesota city files sort rows by office town. Minneapolis has the largest Minnesota city file, 750 rows, with Wayzata second at 390 and Saint Paul third at 318, just 5 ahead of Woodbury (313).

The table opens with Coldwell Banker Realty in Minneapolis, 449 rows, more than half of the Minneapolis file (750). In Wayzata, Coldwell Banker Realty (228) and Compass (124) together hold 352 of the 390 rows.

Keller Williams rows give only the brand in the company column, so a Keller Williams line in the table takes in all of the brand's Minnesota agents filed under that town; the biggest is Maple Grove, with 202. No RE/MAX line appears in the table; the brand's Minnesota agents on file are most numerous in Plymouth (122) and Edina (111).

How the Minnesota file is checked

Every address in the Minnesota file was read on a public web page between Sep 16, 2026 and Oct 8, 2026, and a row is sold only when that page shows the email. 6,205 rows (92%) come from brokerage rosters and 539 are business addresses read on real estate firms' own websites, often an office or team inbox, counted apart from the agents.

Minnesota Realtors, the Twin Cities boards and NorthstarMLS

Minnesota Realtors gives its founding year as 1919 on an about page read in October 2026 and calls itself one of the oldest and largest professional associations in the state; its local associations page counts 16 of them, supporting over 21,500 Realtors in Minnesota.

The about page of Minneapolis Area Realtors, read the same month, gives its founding as 1887 and its membership as over 9,000, calls it the largest local Realtor association in the state, and says that in 1916 Charles Chadbourn, a past president and Minneapolis member, coined the term Realtor. The history page of the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS gives its founding as 1886 and says it has grown to nearly 7,900 members.

NorthstarMLS calls itself the premier real estate multiple listing service in the Upper Midwest and says that, with 12 partnering associations, nearly 97% of all Minnesota REALTORS share information and connect with buyers and sellers through it. Its about page, read in October 2026, puts its reach at more than 22,000 real estate professionals throughout the region and says it facilitated over 75,000 transactions valued at over $30.4 billion in 2025 (northstarmls.com).

Three 30-hour courses before a Minnesota salesperson license

The Minnesota Department of Commerce licensing guide, current as of August 2025, says a salesperson must complete three 30-hour education courses, known as Course I, Course II and Course III, pass the salesperson's examination and become associated with a licensed real estate broker, who must submit the license application (Minnesota Department of Commerce).

For a broker license, the guide asks for the 30-hour broker course and a minimum of three years of active licensed real estate salesperson experience within the five years prior to application for the broker's examination, unless the applicant qualifies for the salesperson experience waiver.

Minnesota sales and prices, 2025 into August 2026

Minnesota Realtors' annual report on 2025, published in January 2026, puts closed sales 2.4% above 2024, their highest level since 2022. Statewide, the median price climbed 2.9% to reach $355,000; in the Twin Cities metro it gained 2.6% to $390,000. For the whole state, new listings hit a three-year high after a 4.6% gain, market times lengthened 4.8% to 44 days, and the typical payment on a median-priced home came to $2,600 (Minnesota Realtors).

The association's August 2026 update, drawn from the state's multiple listing services and current as of September 8, counts 6,926 closed sales for the month, down 2.1% from August 2025, with the median sale price 2.8% higher at $370,000. New listings rose 7.1%. Homes for sale numbered 20,304, up 10.3%, and months of supply stood at 3.5. Over the first eight months of 2026, 46,632 homes changed hands, 2.2% more than a year earlier, with a median of $364,900 for the period, 1.9% over the same months of 2025.

What a Minnesota seller discloses before the purchase agreement

Minnesota Statutes section 513.55, read in October 2026, says that before signing an agreement to sell or transfer residential real property, the seller shall make a written disclosure to the prospective buyer that includes all material facts of which the seller is aware that could adversely and significantly affect an ordinary buyer's use and enjoyment of the property or any intended use of the property of which the seller is aware; section 513.60 says that disclosure may be waived if the seller and the prospective buyer agree in writing.

Section 103I.235, read the same month, says that before signing an agreement to sell or transfer real property, the seller must disclose in writing to the buyer information about the status and location of all known wells on the property.

Questions about the Minnesota file

Answered with this build's Minnesota numbers and the sources above.

Does a Minneapolis home seller need a Truth in Sale of Housing evaluation?
Yes. The City of Minneapolis TISH page, read in October 2026, says that before you sell your house you need to schedule a Truth in Sale of Housing (TISH) evaluation by an evaluator licensed by the City of Minneapolis, that the seller must display a copy so potential buyers can see it at showings, and that the evaluation is valid for two years, or one sale.
Can a Minnesota salesperson hold a license under two brokers?
No. The Department of Commerce licensing guide, current as of August 2025, says a salesperson may not be licensed to act on behalf of more than one broker in Minnesota during the same period of time.
Can I buy only the Minneapolis or Saint Paul agents?
Yes. Minneapolis and Saint Paul each have a file of their own, two of the 32 Minnesota city files. Between them, those 32 cover 5,069 Minnesota rows out of 6,744, and the remaining 1,675 belong to no Minnesota city file.
Do Minnesota agents use Gmail or company email?
Mostly company email, though it depends on the brokerage. RE/MAX agents in Minnesota almost all use remax.net (all but 87 of 1,613). Among Keller Williams agents here, kw.com appears on 1,237 rows out of 1,396. Real Brokerage is the exception: gmail.com is its most used domain, on 225 of 548 rows.
