The office rosters that anchor Doylestown

Keller Williams (163) and Coldwell Banker Hearthside (69) are the Doylestown rosters past the 50-agent mark, 232 agents out of 335 on the borough's list.

The Hearthside agents do not share one mail domain: 37 Doylestown rows use cbhearthside.com, fewer than the 69 agents in that group, so the rest write from other addresses.

Bucks County REALTORS, Bright MLS and the July count

Doylestown falls inside the Bucks County Association of REALTORS, a board founded in 1930 that describes itself as the second largest REALTOR association in Pennsylvania. Bucks County listings run through Bright MLS, which took in TREND, the 1995 merger of the listing services for Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties.

The association's most recent monthly release, for July 2026 and covering all of Bucks County, put the median sold price at $546,665, 6.1% above the $515,000 of July 2025. Homes for sale climbed to 1,048, up 13.1% from June, while new contracts fell 16.3% to 623, and a sold home needed 22 days on average to find its buyer, four more than the five-year July norm of 18 (Bucks County Association of REALTORS, August 19, 2026).

Deeds, transfer tax and the borough and township forms

As the Bucks County seat, Doylestown is where the county Recorder of Deeds takes in deeds from every municipality in the county.

Inside the Central Bucks School District the realty transfer tax totals 2% of the price: 1% to the state, and the other 1% divided evenly between the district and the municipality where the property sits (Central Bucks School District).

Bucks County collects the 2% when the deed is recorded, and since January 2026 its Recorder of Deeds no longer takes personal checks for that payment.

Doylestown Borough code (Chapter 24, Part 5) asks anyone acquiring borough property to register the deed with the borough within two business days of recording it with the county.

Doylestown Township, the separate municipality that wraps around the borough, has every transfer filed at the Township Building with its transfer form, a copy of the deed and a Move-In Permit, for a $10 fee.

A Penn Medicine hospital town around a small borough

Pennsylvania's own Bucks County employer list for the fourth quarter of 2023 put Doylestown Hospital fifth, after Giant Food Stores, the Central Bucks School District, Bucks County government and Walmart.

The borough itself is small. The 2020 count put 8,300 people inside its limits and 17,971 in Doylestown Township, which surrounds it.
