Two counties, one appraisal district and a higher city levy

Amarillo straddles Potter and Randall counties, and a single office, the Potter-Randall Appraisal District, sets values on both sides of the line. The city's own community profile says its growth has gathered in the Randall County part of town.

The city's FY2025/26 budget notice said the plan would raise $8,475,975 more in property taxes than the year before, an increase of 11.77% (amarillo.gov). KFDA reported the adopted rate as $0.43 per $100 of value, up from $0.38.

In February 2026 the city council backed four workforce and affordable housing projects seeking 9% housing tax credits, two of them about $21 million each.

Questions about the Amarillo file

Answered with this build's Amarillo numbers and the sources above.

Does the Amarillo file include brokerage front-desk addresses?
It does: 36 business addresses, read on real estate firms' own websites, sit beside 243 agents, and the Data Source column flags each one.
Is Keller Williams really half of the Amarillo agent list?
More than half. 135 of the 243 Amarillo agents work under Keller Williams, more than every other brand in the city combined.
Are Canyon agents in the Amarillo file?
Not unless they work out of an Amarillo office. No Canyon file exists yet, so agents based down I-27 in Canyon sit in the Texas file.
Who appraises homes for Amarillo property taxes?
The Potter-Randall Appraisal District. It values property in both Potter County and Randall County, the two counties Amarillo sits in.
Do many Amarillo agents use personal email accounts?
A fair number do. 32% of the Amarillo rows sit on free mail such as gmail.com and yahoo.com, against 26% across our Texas file.
