Agents are people. "Business" counts the addresses read on real estate firms' own websites, often an office or team inbox; a city file holds both.

How the Kentucky file is checked

Every address in the Kentucky file was read on a public web page between Sep 16, 2026 and Oct 8, 2026, and a row is sold only when that page shows the email. 3,294 rows (87%) come from brokerage rosters and 473 are business addresses read on real estate firms' own websites, often an office or team inbox, counted apart from the agents.

Two Kentucky license tiers under KRS Chapter 324

As of October 2026, the Kentucky Real Estate Commission licenses sales associates and brokers under Chapter 324 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

Its pages ask an applicant for a sales associate license to complete the Kentucky 96-hour pre-license course, or six academic credit hours of real estate courses from a college or university.

Of our Kentucky rows that list a job title, the most common title is Sales Associate, on 79 of them.

Fifteen local boards, from Bluegrass to Northern Kentucky

Kentucky REALTORS says it began in 1922 and received its original NAR charter in 1923, as the Kentucky Association of REALTORS. As of October 2026 its site counts more than 13,000 members and lists 15 local boards and associations.

Bluegrass REALTORS, in Lexington, says it was founded in 1912; as of October 2026 it represents over 4,000 members in 38 counties, Fayette, Madison and Pulaski among them.

The Northern Kentucky Association of REALTORS traces its roots to the Covington-Newport Real Estate Board, chartered on January 1, 1914. As of October 2026 it has jurisdiction over 12 Kentucky counties, including Boone, Campbell and Kenton.

Kentucky's August 2026 sales down, the median up, a housing gap in all 120 counties

In its release of August 2026 figures, published by NKyTribune on September 20, 2026, Kentucky REALTORS reported 4,010 listings sold statewide, down 18.4% on August 2025, for a total sales volume of $1.33 billion, down 14.9% (Kentucky REALTORS release, published by NKyTribune, September 20, 2026). The release put the median sales price at $285,000, 3.6% above August 2025, and the average sales price at $333,651.

The same month brought 6,081 new listings, 5.19 months of supply and a days-on-market figure of 18. In that release, Kentucky REALTORS President Ann Elizabeth Delahanty said "August continued to show a market that is adjusting, with fewer transactions but home values remaining resilient." The association's January 2026 release of December 2025 figures reported 3,880 listings sold, 6.2% more than in December 2024, with the median at $270,500, 4.0% higher, and supply at 4.17 months.

Kentucky's seller disclosure form and deed transfer tax

Under KRS 324.360, in force since July 14, 2000, on sales of single-family residential dwellings where a licensee receives compensation, the seller completes and signs the disclosure form when executing the listing agreement, and the listing agent delivers a copy to the prospective purchaser within 72 hours of the listing agent's receipt of a written and signed offer to purchase (KRS 324.360).

As of October 2026, KRS 142.050 imposes a tax on the grantor named in the deed at fifty cents for each $500 of value or fraction thereof declared in the deed, which the county clerk collects as a prerequisite to accepting the deed for recordation.
