Gmail, kw.com and remax.net in Michigan inboxes

No domain is more common in the Michigan rows than gmail.com, on 2,320 of them, ahead of kw.com at 1,869 and remax.net at 1,661. Free mailboxes of all kinds make up 28% of the file, and business domains the other 72%.

In the Michigan rows, only 56 RE/MAX agents out of 1,699 use something other than remax.net, and only 18 Epique Realty agents out of 347 something other than epique.me. Keller Williams agents mostly use kw.com, 1,840 of 2,340. For Century 21 (630 of 1,436), Coldwell Banker (427 of 1,288) and Real Brokerage (271 of 526), gmail.com comes first; the first two spread their work addresses over several domains, led by c21affiliated.com and cbgreatlakes.com.

90% of the Michigan rows also list a phone. In October 2026 our walk added 642 Michigan rows it had not seen before; that month is when they joined our file, not when anyone behind them was licensed or changed firms.

Keller Williams, RE/MAX and Century 21 lead Michigan brands on file

Keller Williams leads with 2,340 Michigan agents. Its share of the state's branded rows, 24%, compares with 19% in our US file. RE/MAX is second here with 1,699 and Century 21 third with 1,436. Coldwell Banker, second in our US file, comes fourth in Michigan (1,288).

Of the five largest brands here, three run more than half again above their shares of our US file: RE/MAX at 18% of the branded Michigan agents (10% in the US file), Century 21 at 15% (8%) and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices at 13% (8%).

Of the 3,965 Epique Realty agents in our US file, 347 (9%) are in Michigan, a state with about 2% of that file's branded agents.

Three brands that are large in our US file barely appear in the Michigan rows: Compass (2 here, 32,769 in the US file), LPT Realty (3 against 12,578) and HomeSmart (23 against 24,548).

Under the Coldwell Banker and Century 21 names the file lists separate companies, led by Coldwell Banker Professionals (451) and Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors (431) for the first and CENTURY 21 Professionals (295) and CENTURY 21 Curran & Oberski (290) for the second.

Grand Rapids, Birmingham, Shelby Township and the Keller Williams towns

Rows are filed under the town of their office. Grand Rapids has the biggest Michigan city file, 489 addresses, with Birmingham (418) and Shelby Township (314) behind it. Detroit's own file holds 96.

The table below groups rows by company and office town and leaves out RE/MAX, whose rows carry no company name. Keller Williams rows name only the brand, so each of its groups holds every agent filed under Keller Williams in that town, and the table's ten groups are all Keller Williams, led by Grand Rapids (228), Plymouth (200) and Chesterfield (191). Outside Keller Williams and RE/MAX, the largest group is Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in Birmingham, with 112.

In Plymouth (200 of 231) and Chesterfield (191 of 211), Keller Williams rows make up more than four in five of the town's file.

How the Michigan file is checked

Every address in the Michigan file was read on a public web page between Sep 16, 2026 and Oct 8, 2026, and a row is sold only when that page shows the email. 9,638 rows (94%) come from brokerage rosters and 631 are business addresses read on real estate firms' own websites, often an office or team inbox, counted apart from the agents.

Michigan licenses, and an association founded in 1915

AYPO, a real estate school, wrote in a June 2021 guide that a Michigan salesperson needs 40 hours of pre-license education and works under a broker, while a broker needs 90 hours and three years of full-time experience as a salesperson and can work independently. Colibri, another school, gives the same 40 hours and sponsorship by a licensed Michigan broker on its requirements page, read in October 2026.

Sales Associate is the commonest title on the Michigan profiles in our file (819), and 208 more spell out Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Michigan REALTORS, the state association, was established in 1915 and is based in Lansing. As of October 2026 its website puts membership at over 35,000, a count of members rather than of the state's licensees.

Realcomp, GreaterMLS and the Michigan data shares

Realcomp, which dates its start to 1994 and serves Southeastern Michigan, is owned by seven REALTOR boards: Dearborn, Detroit, Eastern Thumb, Grosse Pointe, Lapeer and Upper Thumb, Livingston, and North Oakland County. On its data sharing page, updated in August 2026, Realcomp calls itself Michigan's largest MLS.

The Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS, or GMAR, has offices in Southfield and Ann Arbor, covers Detroit, Oakland, Macomb and Wayne, and runs its own GreaterMLS on Flexmls. On its MLS page, read in October 2026, GMAR calls Flexmls Michigan's most widely used MLS platform and says it serves 12 organizations in the state and nearly one-third of Michigan's REALTORS.

The same Realcomp page lists 24 other Michigan boards and MLSs it shares listings with, GMAR, MiRealSource and the Grand Rapids, Lansing and Kalamazoo associations among them (Realcomp).

Realcomp and GMAR numbers for 2026, and Michigan permits

Across all of Realcomp's MLS data, residential and condo combined, the median sale price in March 2026 was $272,000, against $260,000 a year earlier, a rise of 4.6%. Closed sales numbered 7,052, down 5.4%, and pending sales 8,521, down 5%. Inventory grew 12.7% to 19,643 homes, a 2.2-month supply; average days on market went from 47 to 50, and sellers received 98.5% of the last list price, against 98.7% a year before (Realcomp).

GMAR's homepage figures for August 2026, for residential property in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties, show 3,423 homes sold for $386,737 on average and 3.1 months' supply of inventory. Inventory there was 3.1% lower than in July 2026.

The Census Bureau's Building Permits Survey counts 15,566 single-family homes permitted in Michigan in 2025, a step up from 15,045 in 2024, along with 6,266 units in larger buildings of five units or more, up from 5,773.

Michigan seller disclosure and Proposal A

A licensee class handout posted by the North Oakland County Board of REALTORS, undated and read in October 2026, quotes Michigan's Seller Disclosure Act: the seller of a property with one to four dwelling units must deliver a disclosure statement to the buyer before signing a binding purchase agreement, a buyer who gets it after that may cancel by written notice within 72 hours of delivery in person or 120 hours of delivery by registered mail, and a licensed builder's sale of a newly built home no one has lived in is exempt.

The City of Southfield's assessing page, read in October 2026, says Michigan voters passed Proposal A in 1994, that it limits the growth in property taxes to the rate of inflation or 5%, whichever is less, and that once a property is sold its taxable value is uncapped and rises to the assessed value for the year after the sale (City of Southfield).

Questions about the Michigan file

Answered with this build's Michigan numbers and the sources above.

How many Michigan agents does the list hold?
9,638 in the build of Oct 8, 2026, each with an email address, and beside them 631 business addresses read on real estate firms' own websites. The list holds the agents whose email addresses our walks found, not every Michigan licensee.
Is Grand Rapids sold apart from the rest of Michigan?
Yes. Grand Rapids is one of the 46 Michigan city files, and each of them can be bought alone. Of the 10,269 Michigan rows, 7,018 sit in a city file; the other 3,251 are in none and come with the statewide list.
What does associate broker mean on a Michigan agent profile?
An associate broker holds a broker license but is licensed to another broker or brokerage firm and works for that company, as AYPO, a real estate school, put it in a June 2021 guide. In our Michigan rows, at least 57 profiles carry an associate broker title in one wording or another.
Will a Michigan buyer's property tax bill match the seller's?
Not necessarily. The seller's disclosure form, as reproduced in a North Oakland County Board of REALTORS class handout read in October 2026, tells buyers not to assume their future tax bills will be the same as the seller's present ones, and says real property tax obligations under Michigan law can change significantly when property is transferred.
