Gmail at HomeSmart, westusa.com at West USA

Of the 7,408 HomeSmart agents in the Arizona file, 4,463 write from gmail.com; the next most used domains among them are yahoo.com, cox.net and hotmail.com. West USA Realty agents write from westusa.com, 2,948 of 2,958, and westusa.com is the second most used domain in the state file, behind gmail.com (7,556).

Of the Arizona rows, 96% include a phone number. Our walks reached 332 of them for the first time in October 2026; that date marks our find, not a license or a hire.

HomeSmart, and three brands we find only in Arizona

HomeSmart accounts for 35.5% of the branded agents in the Arizona file, more than six times its 5.3% share of our national file. Of all the HomeSmart agents in our national file, 30% are in the Arizona file.

The next two brands, West USA Realty (2,958 agents) and My Home Group (1,836), have no agents outside Arizona in our national file, and neither does Long Realty (776).

Keller Williams, which leads our national file with 18.7% of branded agents, ranks sixth in the Arizona file, where its 1,045 agents are 5.0% of those with a brand. Coldwell Banker, second in that file at 15.1%, holds 6.0% here.

Scottsdale outnumbers Phoenix in our city files

A row's city here is the city of the agent's office. Counted that way, Scottsdale has the biggest Arizona city file, 3,933 agents, while Phoenix has 2,331; Chandler (1,195), Mesa (1,182) and Gilbert (992) follow. In all, there are 38 Arizona city files.

Four of the ten biggest Arizona offices on file are in Scottsdale: HomeSmart (1,410), Compass (605), West USA Realty (486) and Keller Williams (374). The single biggest is HomeSmart's Phoenix office, at 1,648 agents, 71% of the Phoenix file.

In three city files, at least 99% of the rows are West USA Realty's: Arrowhead (462 of 462), Ahwatukee (251 of 252) and North Phoenix (231 of 231).

None of the 1,836 My Home Group rows or the 776 Long Realty rows has an office city. In all, 2,837 Arizona rows have no office city, and 3,945 are in the state file but in no city file.

Arizona's salesperson, associate broker and designated broker

As read in October 2026, Arizona's real estate statutes define an associate broker as a licensed broker employed by another broker, with the same license privileges as a salesperson unless otherwise specifically provided, and a designated broker as a licensed broker who is designated to act on behalf of an employing real estate, cemetery or membership camping entity, or who does business as a sole proprietor (A.R.S. 32-2101).

Under A.R.S. 32-2124, as read in October 2026, applicants for the salesperson and the broker license each need at least ninety classroom hours, or the equivalent, of instruction in a real estate school, and a broker applicant must also have been an active licensed salesperson or broker for at least three of the five years immediately before applying.

ARMLS and the Tucson association's MLSSAZ

ARMLS, the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service, is Arizona's largest MLS and serves about 39,000 real estate professionals across Arizona, HousingWire reported on March 26, 2026. It was shifting to an independent board, a smaller group of directors not licensed to conduct real estate transactions in Arizona, alongside a broker and agent advisory council, with the transition targeted for August 2026 (HousingWire).

The Tucson Association of REALTORS calls itself the largest trade association in Southern Arizona; its website, read in October 2026, says it represents the interests of over 6,500 real estate professionals. It also owns the Multiple Listing Service of Southern Arizona, MLSSAZ, as a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary.

A level $450,000 median in ARMLS, $360,000 in MLSSAZ

The ARMLS median sales price for September 2026 was $450,000, the same as a year earlier, and the median days on market fell to 63 from 66 a year earlier (ARMLS, October 6, 2026).

By county, the ARMLS summary for the third quarter of 2026 counts 13,619 closed sales in Maricopa County at a median of $467,500, 2,136 in Pinal County at $373,000 and 702 in Yavapai County at $465,000.

In the Tucson association's MLSSAZ report for August 2026, the median sale price was $360,000, a 2.9% rise over the year, and sales came to 1,048, a 9.9% drop. Median days on market came to 34, four fewer than a year before, and new listings fell 1.4% to 1,688.

The Census Bureau's permit survey counts 23,755 single-family units permitted in 2025 in the Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler metro area and 3,592 in the Tucson metro area. From January to June 2026, total building permits in Arizona ran 17.5% below a year earlier, the University of Arizona's Economic and Business Research Center reported in August 2026; it has the Phoenix metro area's single-family median hovering around $450,000 since the fourth quarter of 2025.

Escrow, the SPDS and a constitutional bar on new transfer taxes

Freedom Real Estate Services' guide to Arizona closings, updated on October 7, 2026, says Arizona typically has same-day close and record: once the lender funds, the escrow company records the deed and disburses the proceeds.

Section 4a of the Arizona REALTORS residential resale purchase contract has the seller deliver a completed Seller's Property Disclosure Statement, the SPDS, within three days after acceptance, as a law firm quoted it in May 2023 and the same guide gave it in October 2026.

As read in October 2026, Article 9, Section 24 of the Arizona Constitution bars the state and any county, city, town or other political subdivision or taxing district from imposing any new tax, fee, stamp requirement or other assessment on selling, purchasing, transferring or otherwise conveying any interest in real property; it does not apply to any in existence on December 31, 2007.

Questions about the Arizona file

Answered with this build's Arizona numbers and the sources above.

Who runs the closing on an Arizona home sale?
An escrow company, not an attorney, according to Freedom Real Estate Services' guide to Arizona closings, updated in October 2026, which says escrow companies handle the process from the earnest money to the recording.
How long does a buyer have to inspect an Arizona resale home?
Ten days from contract acceptance is the default inspection period in the Arizona REALTORS residential resale purchase contract, according to Freedom Real Estate Services' guide to Arizona closings, updated in October 2026.
Which brokerage brand has the most agents in the Arizona file?
HomeSmart, with 7,408 of the 21,129 rows in our Arizona file, more than the next two brands, West USA Realty and My Home Group, put together.
Can I buy the Scottsdale agents without the rest of Arizona?
Yes. Scottsdale is sold as a city file of its own, apart from the statewide Arizona file, and the city table on this page lists its count and price.
